Program Sampler

Thinking about becoming a certified massage therapist? Come and experience our school from a student's point of view. Spend the day with teachers and staff of MSPA and get a glimpse of what classes would be like here. Find out what it takes to become a certified massage therapist.

5 Contact Hours

Mini Massage

This class will teach you stress and tension-relieving massage methods for yourself, friends, family, co-workers, etc.  The techniques concentrate on the head, neck, shoulders, back and arms and are done in a seated position.  This mini-massage is ideal for individuals in high-stress lifestyles with limited time for relaxation.  Participants need a partner.  Class fee is for participant and partner.

Time: 6:30pm to 8:30pm

Couples Massage

Learn how to give your significant other, or a friend, a body massage.  We will teach massage strokes for the head, neck and shoulders, arms and hands, legs and feet, and back.  You must register with a partner.  Fee includes both persons.  Please bring four single flat sheets and ten hand towels per couple.  We will have massage lotion and other optional items available to purchase.

Infant Massage

Massaging your baby is a unique way to build a loving bond between parent and infant through relaxation and touch.  The instructor will demonstrate techniques to soothe and comfort infants.  Massage for infants has been shown to strengthen the immune system and cardiovascular system, ease digestive problems, and stimulate gastrointestinal functions.  Participants can attend alone or with a partner, and a baby that is six months or younger.  You will need to bring a thick, soft towel or blanket and a small bottle of oil (grapeseed or sweet almond).  Please do not bring mineral oil, baby oil or coconut oil.  Oil will be available at the class to purchase for $9.95.  Have your baby wear something easy to remove.
